As your Trustee, I've advocated for common-sense policies with one goal in mind: making Richardson ISD the best place to learn and work. I proudly supported teacher and staff pay raises and led the initiative for the District to have paid parental leave. Because when our educators are supported, we retain top-tier talent. We've honed our efforts to support student achievement growth at every level, resulting in improved student performance. And we've expanded the number of technical career certifications available for students to have by the time they graduate.
I initially ran for school board because of my commitment to being a leader who makes decisions that best serve all of our students and community. We know that our District will continue facing critically tough choices. But, my commitment remains strong to be a leader who listens and learns as we work together to continue making RISD a premier school district to be proud of.
Humbly Yours,
-Rachel McGowan
